I attended Eric's performance of the Charles Strouse songbook at the Allen Room last night with a date.  This was a perfect evening, in a perfect venue.  It was Eric's most polished performance yet (and I heard the same show at the Metropolitan Room).  I hope he records this collection of songs.
Stuart M., Trenton, NJ

"I am a long time fan of Eric Comstock.  I will be celebrating my 49th birthday in early March 2007.  Will Mr. Comstock be performing anywhere in the New York or Washington, DC are during the early part of March 2007?  I would delight being able to celebrate my birthday with his performance.  I have previously celebrate similar birth dates at the Oak Room at the Algonquin in New York City.  Thank you."  Deborah A. B., Washington, DC

“I heard Eric Comstock on Jonathan Schwartz's radio show today singing "Small World", and it brought me back to a small, Brooklyn Heights production of Gypsy in the late 1980s. Eric was the very young and talented musical director, and I was in the ensemble. It was a theater experience I'll never forget.
Eric, I've been watching your career, and I'm not at all surprised at your success! I still think of you every time I hear "This Time the Dream's on Me".  Liz K.

“My daughter and I enjoyed "Singing Astaire" at Birdland on February 6, 2005...What a wonderful performance by

all three entertainers.  My daughter just sent me Eric's CD for Mother's Day and I was so thrilled...I wonder if this trio

(or Eric, but the trio was SOOO good) have any performances scheduled in the near future...it is relatively easy for me

to get up to NYC from Virginia where I live, and my daughter lives in NYC, so we could be at a performance quickly...

we would really like to know if there is anything scheduled in the next year featuring this great group or any of them

individually.  I really would appreciate an answer.”  Thanks!  Judy M.

“I responded to the great reviews of NO ONE KNOWS and as I listen to these incredibly balanced talents of musicians
and your smooth vocals, better than ever, I am proud of your latest accomplishment.  The arrangements, coupled with
unique song selections make this  cherished memories of wonderful familiar music with your special interpretations!
Thank you, Eric, for this wonderful blend of music.  I hope you will bring those talents to San Francisco soon!”  Joe R,  San Francisco

Full disclosure: Eric and I were suitemates back in NYU *mumble* years ago.  I was a hard-core fan of punk and new wave music,

and living with Eric was my introduction to the classic pop standards.
I caught Eric performing in "My Sinatra" a few years ago, and I could see his genuine love and appreciation of this music still

shine through like it did all those many years ago.     Eric Comstock is one of the keepers of the flame, and he surely will inspire

the next generation of performers to keep the standards alive.”

“Thank you so much for your swift reply.  I cannot tell you how much I've enjoyed 'Young Man From Manhattan' over the last year, especially Mr. Comstock's rendition of 'Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye', so beautiful.  I discovered him quite by accident while surfing the web and stumbling into your great site via a search on Mary Cleere Haran recordings.  After reading his biography, I ordered YMFM from Tower Records (they don't stock All Hart) and have been listening ever since.  I do a lot of driving on weekends and the CD is perfect for the road, especially at night; it plays with such a great 'live' feeling as though I'm sitting in a club listening to him sitting at a piano right next to me.

I have a special fondness for the Rodgers & Hart songbook, so I have looked high and low for  'All Hart' (even on EBay!) to no avail.  I can only imagine the combination of Hart lyrics/Rodgers melodies as sung and played by Mr. Comstock...must be a fantastic CD!

…If at any time in the future you have information about where I can purchase 'All Hart' or any new release ('Our Sinatra' got such terrific reviews...maybe that will be next?), I would be most appreciative if you would contact me . .. Please let Mr. Comstock know he has one

more admirer of his music in Massachusetts. Sincerely,”  Robert S, Chelmsford, MA

Dear Eric Comstock, I heard you on NPR's "Fresh Air" some time ago and have been a fan since. Bought your "Young Man of Manhattan" CD hoping that the Dietz-Schwartz tune,  "I Guess I'll Have to Change My Plan" was on it because of the lost verses you talked about with Terry Gross on the program. Since then I have looked high and low for music of that tune with the full lyrics, but have had no success finding them. Could you possibly tell me where to look or  even send them to me? I had no idea that the genesis of the lyrics was a guy in love with a married woman and found the lyrics exceptional. Any help you can give will be much appreciated…, With best regards, Jim G., California

Hello, Eric.  I am Jim G.  Betty and I lived for a few years next door to your family in Ridgewood.  We remember setting on our back patio and hearing you play and sing--AND LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT!   In the August 15, 2002 edition of The New York Review I read a review by David Hajdu of books about Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart.  The final paragraph included this:

"In the first week of September last year I met an old colleague,...Kristin White, at the Oak Room in the Algonquin Hotel.  We were both there to see Eric Comstock, the jazz-cabaret singer and pianist, who had recently recorded...." I was excited to hear you are still singing. So decided to see if you are on the "web."  You are.

I wish you every success.  Betty and I remember you and Kate in Ridgewood High School summer theater.  We remember your parents and their kindness to us.  Please give them our regards. Very best wishes.”  Jim G.

Eric - I thoroughly enjoyed your performance up here in the hinterlands. Your cool style complemented the music beautifully, and your commentary and obvious love for the fanastic lyrics shone through.  Thanks for sharing both old favorites and less-known gems - you rock, or should I say you swing?”  - Kathleen, Boston

Dear Eric,
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed your evening at the Lotos Club.  We saw you in "Our Sinatra" and it turns out I saw you as a patient!  Thanks for pointing that out.  I checked out your website and found that you graduated from Ridgewood High School as did all three of our daughters, the oldest being 32.  I'm sure you are aware that another
great musician, Nelson Riddle, was also an RHS graduate. We look forward to seeing you again. Yours truly, Don & Ilona Q.

"Eric- Another outstanding performance at The Kaplan Penthouse!  We're especially happy to see that you're integrating more jazz into your style. You do it so well and your musicianship keeps getting more and more
impressive. We particularly enjoyed your rendition of "Old Devil Moon"--imaginative and haunting. Sorry that we didn't get to see you after the show, but you know what we would have said to you: "You were great!"
See you next time, probably at the Manor. Love-Barbara and Al G."

"Dear Eric:    Just viewed your site, really excellant! I know it must be very hard on you , Bill and Dena but keep the faith. No one could ever predict the pain and suffering which would accompany this horrible incident in New York. Our thoughts are with you, and I am hoping personally to get down to Manhattan soon. Stay well and safe.    All the best,  Buck and the Diva"

"I've been listening to "All Hart", and the performances are wonderful, but please, Eric, sing the verses too. "Time is a healer, but it cannot heal my heart .." They are  wonderful on their own, and they set the stage for the refrain." Michael T

"Eric Comstock & ensemble, Saw and heard you tonight at the 'Blue Angel' performing music a la Sinatra. As always, I greatly enjoyed your singing and piano music. It was a fine performance! The other two singers were also very good. The young woman is beautiful! What a delightful evening. My date and I were well pleased! Be well! Enjoy happiness and prosperity in the New Year! Best Wishes!" Dr Alvin D. J.

"You have not made it to the Emelin Theatre yet, but I made it to your performance last night at The Blue Angel. Our Sinatra was one of the best Cabaret acts I have ever seen and I've seen plenty. A toast to your comrades in arms Hilary and Christopher and your wonderful unidentified Bass player (you all forgot to introduce him). Keep me on your mailing list and let me know when your new CD will be released. By the way, will Our Sinatra be recorded? Should be!!!" Fambf

"We've followed your career with unbridled enthusiasm and amazement at your talent. Actually, we were never cabaret devotees until we saw you perform. We love jazz, and that's in much of your music - -really appealing. But you're great in everything you do!" Barbara and Al G.

"Eric Comstock at the Supper Club has had the best show this year! Too bad there's not a Tony for cabaret. I saw the first show and then wanted to see the others, but couldn't manage all. What I've seen has been exceptional! More Eric Comstock is needed." Linda C., New York City

"When and where can I hear Eric Comstock?" Best, Cynthia Crane, New York City

"Hi--I just caught Eric on a PBS station on TV and think he's fantastic!!! I live in the Miami area. Any chance he'll be down in Florida one of these days? I saw he's been in Palm Beach, hence the question. Thanks for your attention." Ogden N., Fla.

"Dear Eric, I was preparing to come see you perform at Shanghai Jazz in mid-December only to learn you would be in Palm Beach instead (your Dad broke the news!!!). Your internet sites are excellent and I particularly enjoyed reading about your early years (singing siblings etc...). I am determined to see your act SOON and I will be sure not to sit on the piano stool or sing along!! Kindly forward your schedule of upcoming performances (mail or e-mail). Best wishes, continued success and happy holidays. Andy R.

"Eric and I performed along with five other singers at the Sinatra Conference at Hofstra University. First, we participated in a panel discussion. Then Eric sang a couple of songs at the piano and accompanied us as we each sang two songs. This was totally unrehearsed and without sheet music. Eric's skillful accompaniment greatly contributed to a wonderful experience for us and the audience. Thanks again Eric." Jim Altamore

"I was lucky enough to get to see Eric Comstock's show on Sinatra at the Triad recently (also with Christopher Gines and Berri Blair). It was a packed house of fans, and Eric played an impressive piano and sang wonderfully. It was an evening of unbeatable music." Linda C., NYC.

"I've been trying to get Young Man of Manhattan from Amazon and Music Blvd, and a couple local stores and can't find it anywhere. They're all out of stock. Help!" Matt

"Any chance Eric is performing in NYC on Friday, July 31? A former teacher and admirer wants to know -- I'll be in NYC for only one evening." - Cathy, Washington DC.

"I just got back from hearing Eric do a delightful set at the Blue Room in the Supper Club." - Steve Ross, pianist/singer.

"I've been lucky enough to hear Eric Comstock at several private parties. I was always impressed and am very happy about his current success and have already bought his CD. His ballads, particularly, are more moving than ever." Dillon B., New York.

"We visited New York a few weeks ago and happened to hear about Eric Comstock's show at the Supper Club, so we went there. It's a lovely room and perfect for a show like Eric's, which was sophisticated, witty, and entertaining. We bought a CD and we look forward to visiting his website often to see where he will be appearing. Hopefully, he will be appearing someplace equally delightful as the Supper Club the next time we come to New York." Ellen and Tim, Phoenix, Arizona.

"Once I saw Eric perform, and now having bought his CD and listening to it,  I think of Eric Comstock as truly, 'Mr. Manhattan'," Maria D., New York.
